about sollet

SOLLET aims at improving combined solar and wood pellet systems for heating.
SOLLET will enhance training, qualification, education and marketing in the field of innovative energy systems.
The project results will help to accelerate the implementation of solar/wood pellet systems all over Europe, thus creating local, sustainable jobs from regional resources.
The project will open new market segments for participating SMEs all over Europe and beyond. The end users all over Europe will benefit from SOLLET through an advanced, economic viable and energetic efficient decentralized technology for heating.
Today the market does not offer a regenerative energy system that ensures a year-round, energetically and economically efficient 100% supply of heating energy to small houses.
Experience from various European countries shows that in practical use there are still a lot of problems to be solved in order to obtain sound technically and economically suitable solar/pellet hybrid systems, which will be broadly accepted on the market.
Research is needed on pellet supply, technical interaction between pellet oven, storage tank and solar collector system as well as link to the marketingon the spreading of market information to the customer.
In this project link to the sollet-plantsdemonstration plants with different sizes and with different solar/pellet combinations will be implemented and monitored. A European technical standard for solar/pellet systems will be developed in order to ensure the highest possible energetic and economic efficiency while supplying 100 % renewable energy to small buildings.
